The Assumptions Tag has been a trend on the internets, and for a while but I was trynna resist lol; mostly because I don’t have a platform to upload a video.
However, I found them very interesting to watch plus I thought, it would be interesting to hear people’s assumptions about me and respond to them.
Just in case you’re wondering what I’m talking about, this is a tag where you ask people to send in assumptions they have about you, and you respond to them in a video, mostly. But here I am responding in a blog post because why not.
I asked peeps on my Instagram; so I’ll have the assumptions in bold and italics, then I’ll respond to each below…let’s get it!
You have a secret boyfriend. You’re dating. You keep your boyfriend away from social media.
This was the greatest of all assumptions guys. I wonder why. I’m currently not dating, neither do I have a secret boyfriend. However, even when I do, I don’t think it’s going to be something I post on social media, for obvious reasons.
You earn a lot of money. You are rich. You’re a rich kid.
First of all can I say AMEN to the above assumptions! All I can say is that I earn ‘enough’ money to take care of my needs and a few wants. I was listening to speaker sometime back (can’t remember who it was) and he said, you think 5 million dollars is a lot of money until you have it. Over the last few years, I’ve learnt to appreciate what I have. In addition, I owe it to my mum for helping me cultivate the culture of saving money and having a budget. Save, budget and save!
You’re always happy. You never get sad.
That’s not true! I have bad days, terrible ones to say the least. I allow myself to feel bad about whatever the situation is, but here’s the thing, I don’t remain there. I choose to focus on the good, and it gets better. I’m not just saying btw, it actually works. However, when I’m in a bad state, it’s quite hard to tell just by looking at me, I smile a lot, sometimes I think unconsciously.
You’ve got your life all figured out.
Not even close sis! You know there’s a difference between knowing what you want and getting there. At least I know what I want, but getting there! Oh, the hurdles?! One thing is for sure, no one said it will be easy, but experienced people have said it’s worth it. That’s what keeps me at it.
You’re a snob. You’re harsh.
Going with the definition that a snob is someone who ignores people; I’m not. Probably why someone would get this impression is because I’m shy crowds are a “no thank you” for me. I’m so socially awkward you guys, especially to new people. About being harsh, I can be, I think. But I’m not always harsh…only when someone gets to my last nerve.
You’ll end up in real dreadlocks.
This one, I will neither agree or deny. Because a part of me really wants dreadlocks, but I’m afraid I’ll miss my unlocked hair. I really don’t know. But once I have these temporary LOCKS down, I think I’ll be better placed to make a sound decision.
You’re a softie…
Gather around please…what does this one mean? Before I respond to things nobody asked me.
That’s it for today! Y’all who said you were waiting for the assumptions and my responses, there you go. Y’all who sent in you assumptions, thank you. Otherwise we’d not have this blog post haha. Others were compliments, I appreciate everyone of them dearly! I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post my loves!
